face the Broken World als ich kann

And my favorite Holiday acquisition (which I bought as a christmas gift to myself):

Asterios Polyp - Dave Mazzucchelli
cold, quirky, brilliant, insightful and downright fun, this book is an artistic representation of an accomplished, weary, lost soul, looking at one’s narrative identity through one’s encounter with the absurd. Narrated by his stillborn twin Ignazio, ‘Sterio’s journey takes him out of his day-to-day, into the middle of nowhere, helping him find who he truly is, and what really matters.
Mazzucchelli’s art does so much with so little, balancing rational order with animated chaos by using just a few basic colors, usually tracing the art with images that speak for themselves, evoking a full spectrum of emotions, in a way that is perfect for the medium.A true graphic novel that’s worth your money and your time.
